Fully passionate about synthetic biology. I am really enthusiastic about engineering microorganisms to better understand cellular mechanisms and to provide them with new properties for human use.
paula's Bio

I have a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Technological Institute of Costa Rica and I am currently an AIRE M1 student from the Life Science's track at CRI.

My main areas of interest in science are synthetic and molecular biology. Hence, since the first years of college, I have been doing internships related to those fields, in topics like CRISPR interference, rolling circle amplification, genetic modification of microorganisms and design of metabolic pathways.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy running and listening to podcasts on tech ethics (especially the ones from Prof. Michael Sandel). I also love food and I am keen to see how synbio is going to change the way we eat.
