Before coming to Paris, she studied in the Netherlands and holds a bachelor and master degree in Life Sciences & Technology from the University of Leiden and TU Delft. In 2019, she obtained her Ph.D. degree (highest honors) from Université Paris Descartes. She participated in iGEM with a team of the TU Delft in 2010 that worked on a biological solution for alkane (main component of oil) degradation in sea water and mentored the iGEM Bettencourt team of 2016.
In parallel of her scientific career, she has been actively bridging the world of science with society and business. From 2012 to 2015, she was the president of the Dutch chapter of the international Kairos Society for student entrepreneurs. Moreover, she co-founded science communication company Science Matters in 2011. She later joined Hello Tomorrow to promote and support deep tech innovation internationally. First as a Dutch ambassador and later as International Community Director. She currently serves as a board member of the organisation.
